Internet Download Manager (IDM) 6.15 Build 2 Final Retail

The name might not be the most creative, but the Internet Download Manager does exactly what it promises: helps you download and organize files. The best part is that you can schedule downloads and use filters to get the specific files you want.
The compact interface is packed with options, but the main features are easily accessed from a toolbar at the top. We would have liked to see a bit more user guidance up front, but a tutorial does cover the basics, and there is a more detailed Help file if you get stuck. You can also go the easier route with the program's integrated Web browser options, which work with nearly all of the most popular browsers, including Internet Explorer and Firefox. Each time the program recognizes a video in FLV format on a site like YouTube, you'll see a button, and it's one click and you're off and running. From the main interface, all you have to do is add the URL for a video to get started. A new window shows you the status and allows you to pause the recording and set up a few options for what to do with the file once the download completes. As advertised, the speed was good and we didn't have any issues with test files we downloaded, which included MP3s, FLVs, and MPEGs. Our favorite feature was the scheduler, which was easy to set up and lets you choose where and when the program will download files. We especially liked the fact that if you lose your Internet connection, the program will resume downloading your selected or scheduled files once everything's up and running again.
The download and installation of IDM was easy and fast, and it uninstalled cleanly. If you're looking for a program that you can basically set and forget to video downloads, this is a good option.

Installing Windows Movie Maker 6.0 on Windows 7

Windows Movie Maker 6.0 on Windows 7If you are reading this, I'm going to assume you've upgraded at least one PC to Windows 7 and discovered Windows Movie Maker is no where to be found. In its place, Microsoft now offers a set of programs called "Windows Live Essentials" that must be downloaded to have these features.

Many people have tried Windows "Live" Movie Maker and complained about the lack of a traditional timeline, loss of narration ability, no view of music waveform, etc. In addition, if you have been building up a library of custom titles/transitions/effects under Windows Movie Maker 6.0 (from Vista), you've probably found you can't use these in WLMM since the rendering architecture has changed again.

The good news is you can still use the latest version of Windows Movie Maker 6.0 from Vista. You can do this manually by copying the files from a Vista machine, registering some DLLs and creating a shortcut in your start menu. Or you can just use the installers I created below:
Movie Maker 6.0 for Windows 7 (64-bit)
Movie Maker 6.0 for Windows 7 (32-bit)
There are two versions (64-bit or 32-bit) depending on the version of Windows 7 you are running. If you are unsure, go to your 'Start' menu, right-click on 'Computer' and choose 'Properties'. System type should show 64-bit or 32-bit operating system. Pick the installer that matches.

How to Set and Achieve a Goal

Goals help you clarify and chart our what you want from work and life. Setting goals helps you identify what you want, while setting objectives helps you map out a path to get there. A goal is the overall target. Objectives are the steps along the way. Strategies are the approaches you use to reach your objectives, including what you will do and what you won’t. Tactics are what you actually do reach your objectives. Your strategies guide your tactics.

Measures are what you use as your unit of measurement. For example, if you’re losing weight, you would use pounds. Metrics would be the target. For example, in the example of losing weight, you might say lose 10 pounds, where pounds are the measure, but 10 pounds is the metric. You can set measures and metrics for your goals and for your objectives. This helps you identify what good success looks like as well as know when you’ve achieved your goal or objective.

Here are some reasons for setting your goals:
  • Goals provide a target. Writing goals down helps improve your clarity. When you know what you want, you become more resourceful and alert to things in your life that can help you reach your goals. You also become more aware of things that take you off your path.
  • Goals provide a roadmap. Goals can help you turn a dream into a path. It’s been said that goals are dreams with deadlines.
  • Goals help you focus your time and effort. Having goals with deadlines helps you identify the work that needs to be done to get there. This helps you better allocate your time and energy towards what you want to accomplish.
  • Goals help you prioritize. There are always trade-offs in life. Having goals helps you optimize your life towards what you want to accomplish. Goals help you prioritize your time and energy. For example, if you are training for a marathon, you might prioritize your workout and routines over other activities so that you can succeed.
  • Goals help you with motivation. Having something to hope to hope for and work towards can provide inspiration. Whenever you feel off track, you can remind yourself of your goal and what you want to accomplish.

In other words, if you don’t have goals with timeframes, then you don’t have a way to prioritize your time and energy, since you don’t have clarity on what or when you need to accomplish something.

Blogging With John Chow Review

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying Blogging With John Chow, there weren’t many real reviews around so I thought I’d write one quickly to help any of you who are in the same position I was.
But be warned, I’ll be going into both the good and the bad points, so if that’s something you might not want to hear, then you may as well leave now.

First of all- What Exactly Is Blogging With John Chow?
Blogging With John Chow is a step-by-step system of how John Chow makes money from his blog by just working an average of two hours a day. John Chow, one of the biggest bloggers in the world, has set up this course so that anyone can follow it and be able to turn their blog into a business. A blog is a diary-style type website that is on the internet, where you can basically   talk about anything that interests you or anything you just want to share with   the world.

My Blogging With John Chow Review and Experiences With The Product
I originally was interested in Blogging With John Chow because I wanted to learn how I could make my blog better and how I could get more targeted traffic to it.
While I was taking the Blogging With John Chow course I came across I a lot of information. Inside the course, John Chow talks alot about writing quality content for your blog, how to choose hot topics to talk about on your blog, branding your blog, how to create a quality newsletter and give value to your list, and how and when to correctly monetize your blog.

All the information provided is very insightful and the content provided is very well-written and informative and John Chow has made sure to keep the readers engaged by making the content very easy to follow and interesting. Blogging With John Chow has an in-depth and updated version of what you need to do to correctly backlink and build SEO on your blog. Far too many courses have outdated information on backlinking and SEO, and personally this is one part of the course I enjoyed the most besides list building and content creation.

Additionally, In the course John Chow teaches you the big blogging mistakes along with what to do correctly in every module. A lot of courses just tell you what to do and leave out what not to do. But Blogging With John Chow tells you exactly what you need to do to ensure that you will do everything correctly.

“Another interesting thing that John Chow provides is a thirty day action plan, which is very helpful because he provides so much information   that many people probably wouldn’t even know where to start.”

I was also able to learn a lot of information from Blogging With John Chow.   I found out many ways that I could market my blog and find out topics to   discuss that I didn’t even know about before. I was also able to find out   all the mistakes I was doing and now I have learned how I can improve the   readability of my blog and give my visitors more value.

The Bad Points

  • In the ‘Blogging Done For You’ upsell you will have to brush up the articles and give them your own touch.
  • You need money to start, not alot though and this system requires you to work on your website and alot of dedication from you. But don’t be discouraged though, if you stick to something you are passionate about you will be successful.

The Good Points

  • John Chow offers to install WordPress on your blog for you if you do not feel entirely comfortable doing it yourself, this is very newbie friendly, and the best part is that its free.
  • John Chow provides a bonus video in the course which reinstates what is actually in the Blogging With John Chow course for those of you who are visual learners this could help you tremendously.

Worlds Fastest Broadband - 40 Gigabytes per second

Sigbritt will be able to download full HD DVDs in just 2 seconds!
Sigbritt Löthberg's home has been supplied with a blistering 40 Gigabits per second connection, many thousands of times faster than the average residential link and the first time ever that a home user has experienced such a high speed.

But Sigbritt, who had never had a computer until now, is no ordinary 75 year old. She is the mother of Swedish internet legend Peter Löthberg who, along with Karlstad Stadsnät, the local council's network arm, has arranged the connection.

"This is more than just a demonstration," said network boss Hafsteinn Jonsson.

"As a network owner we're trying to persuade internet operators to invest in faster connections. And Peter Löthberg wanted to show how you can build a low price, high capacity line over long distances," he told The Local.

Sigbritt will now be able to enjoy 1,500 high definition HDTV channels simultaneously. Or, if there is nothing worth watching there, she will be able to download a full high definition DVD in just two seconds.

The secret behind Sigbritt's ultra-fast connection is a new modulation technique which allows data to be transferred directly between two routers up to 2,000 kilometres apart, with no intermediary transponders.

According to Karlstad Stadsnät the distance is, in theory, unlimited - there is no data loss as long as the fibre is in place.

"I want to show that there are other methods than the old fashioned ways such as copper wires and radio, which lack the possibilities that fibre has," said Peter Löthberg, who now works at Cisco.

Cisco contributed to the project but the point, said Hafsteinn Jonsson, is that fibre technology makes such high speed connections technically and commercially viable.

"The most difficult part of the whole project was installing Windows on Sigbritt's PC," said Jonsson.

Fujitsu Team Cracked New Form of Encryption

An innovative form of encryption, which was expected to become the next best thing when coming to encoding, was recently cracked by a team led by Fujitsu. The team was made up of the representatives of Fujitsu, Kyushu University, and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, coped with a successful cryptanalysis of a 278-digit (923-bit)-long pairing-based cryptography.

Unfortunately for the standard, the encryption in question is currently fast becoming the next best thing, as it was estimated to take hundreds of thousands years to crack. The company admits that the standard was quite tricky to start with and in fact was impossible to break.

Nevertheless, the number crunchers changed their approach and came up with another way to solve the problem. They found out that pairing-based cryptography of that length was very fragile and therefore could be broken in only 5 months. In the official statement, Fujitsu said along with the development of cryptanalytic techniques and machines, cryptanalytic speed also accelerates, while cryptographic security falls.

In the meantime, pairing-based cryptography hadn’t developed much, which made it premature to evaluate its security against a new way of attack. According to Fujitsu team, they used 21 PCs with 252 cores in 5 months. In fact, the cryptanalysis equals to spoofing the authority of the information system administrator.

As such, for the first time ever Fujitsu managed to prove that the cryptography of the parameter wasn’t secure enough and could be cracked in a realistic amount of time. Meanwhile, the key to the problem was a technique optimizing parameter setting, which used computer algebra: a two dimensional search algorithm extended from linear search.

Fujitsu employed more efficient programming techniques to work out an equation from shedloads of information, along with the parallel programming technology. Although it gave Fujitsu a new world record of cryptanalysis, it also had another side and meant the acquisition of valuable information which formed a technical foundation on which to estimate selection of secure encryption, regardless of what that means. As usual, any press release created by PR specialists can only obfuscate instead of illumining.
